Don't Call It a Capelet, It's Been Here for Years

Call it a shawl, a scarf, a stole, a wrap, even a pashmina, but it sure as hell ain't no poncho. And I don't even like to call it a Clapotis out loud, because I fell silly.

Yes, the Curmudgeon may be a Clapper Hater, but I love mine. And I've finally been able to wear it out in public. For the first few days after I finished, I only wore it out to walk the dogs. It's a little tricky to keep it from falling into the poop when I bend over to pick it up, but I'm oh-so-fashionable while I do it.

The details: the pattern is Clapotis from Knitty, and the yarn is recycled cashmere from a thrift store sweater - men's large Polo turtleneck. I knit with two strands held together. There's enough leftover to make a neckwarmer for Max.

Looks great. I think yours is the first one I've seen that's not from variegated yarn. I like the simple elegance of the solid charcoal, dahling. Just don't drop it in the poo, that would be so uncool. :)

Love the clapotis!

My family is upstate, and Amazing Threads (your previous post) is halfway between 2 of their houses! :)
